We’ve got a jam-packed year! We won’t just be planning the 2019 street festival, we’ll be doing this stuff as well:
LEARN TO SCULPT WITH CLAY on Sunday 4th March 2018
Your opportunity to learn a new craft with a professional artist – thanks to funding from Creative Black Country, Ruth Durrant will be visiting Bearwood to help you make your own creations. It’ll be a family friendly event – register your interest at email@example.com. And if you’re looking for inspiration, check out the Black Country Ceramic Garden gallery for pics of a project led by Ruth.
Dressing up your windows isn’t just for Hallowe’en, you know. We all loved the Bear Trail and Jumble Trail. So we’re combining it all! We’re hoping you’ll decorate your windows and transform our streets ‘into magical, outdoor galleries’. Have a look here for inspiration, and sign up to our mailing list and we’ll let you know when it’s happening!
STREET FESTIVAL COMMUNITY PLANNING
What do you want it to be like? We’ll be asking local people to help us design the story, the content and activities. Missed out on this last time? Sign up to our mailing list to make sure you don’t miss out again!
WHAT DOES BEARWOOD NEED?
It’s time to find out – we want to know what Bearwood needs from We Are Bearwood!
Local artist and researcher Hannah Hames is working with 5 diverse groups of local people to deepen our understanding about the common or most pressing social issues locally. We’ve asked Hannah to write a blog about her approach and who she’s going to be talking to. Click the link to find out more.
We’re also going to be doing an online and paper survey – we want to know from as many people as possible about what’s important to you in your local community and where you think the gaps are that We Are Bearwood might be able to help solve – collaboratively with you and other community groups. We’ll post all over local social media and have surveys in as many public places as we can – so you’ll have plenty of chance to take part.
GARDENS CELEBRATION 2018
Make sure you’re on our mailing list so we can let you know all about what this year’s gardens celebration is going to look like. Planning and designing will get underway very soon – get in touch if you’d like to help 🙂
That should keep us going for a while, and we’re hoping that there’ll be lots to come out of the surveys you complete but if you have ideas you want to share with us, just get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
