UPDATE: News on the street is that two of the bears (number 6 by Abbey Juniors and number 26) might have gone on their own little walkabout – clearly wanting to find the other bears on the trail themselves! If you see any bears somewhere off the trail please, please let us know so we can get them back to the right place – and make a lot of children at Abbey school very happy.
Here’s what you’ve been waiting for – the Bear Trail map, available below for you to follow through the neighbourhood and Warley Woods (thank you to the Warley Woods Community Trust for their support). And you can CLICK HERE if you’d like a copy of the local history quiz to complete as you go around the trail.
Just click on the map image and you’ll get a nice big version to view. Enjoy the hunt! More info on the trail and how you can get your own cub below.
What’s it all about?
Hidden around Bearwood from 17th May to 31st May 2015 are 30 very special bears. Each one has been decorated by a local community group, school or business and is waiting to be found. And what’s more a local historical fact accompanies each bear, on the signposting arrows!
Free decorating workshops!
Create your own bear cub at one of our workshops then display it in your own home (we’re hoping for a spot in your front window so others can enjoy it!). Workshops are entirely free of charge as are all the materials to decorate your cub, we just ask you to let us know how many people you’re bringing to help us anticipate numbers. Email email@example.com to reserve your free place. Suitable for all ages.
Workshops will be at the following times and locations:
Corks Club, High St, 23rd May at 1:30 or 3pm
Thimblemill Library on 24th May at 1:30 or 3pm FULL, NO PLACES LEFT
