Official judging is complete – now it’s your turn!
Our judges have been out scoring the 55 front gardens that have been entered into the We Are Bearwood Front Gardens competition sponsored by Robert Oulsnam & Co and other local businesses. 55 entries! What a lot to get through – and what a lot of greenery we can appreciate in Bearwood. We’ll have to wait with baited breath to hear which gardens have won the fantastic prizes on offer at our prize giving gathering on 29th August, 2pm by the fountain in Warley Woods (or the Pavilion if the weather is bad). Before we tell you about the Bearwood Vote where you get your chance to vote for your favourite, here’s a lovely taster of the gardens out there for you to see, kindly made for us by Bearwoodians Jamie Hough and Jack Nelson – what a great job, thank you guys:
You can view the full video of ALL front gardens here: https://youtu.be/Ourvv4NDBlM
We’ve been really impressed with the number of gardens entered and it’s reminded us how beautiful even the smallest gardens can be – providing little oases for wildlife and contributing to our colourful neighbourhood. So take a look at the map below and if you’d like a list of the gardens street by street, local resident Elizabeth Inniss has helpfully created this for us: List of front gardens. So the judges are working hard but it’s not all about the official judges and the big cash prizes… it’s over to you:
It’s time for you to judge!
Just like during the last competition two years ago, there is a very special prize on offer – the Bearwood Vote! We’re hoping that as many of you as possible will follow the trail map and let us know which garden is your favourite. Local post officers will be doing this too – we’ve even got a ‘Posties’ Vote’ category!
You can use whatever criteria you like – just try to see as many as you can and choose your overall favourite from the entries we’ve received, then email us the address to email@example.com with ‘I Vote For…’ in the subject line, deadline midnight on 26th August 2015. One person, one vote. Children encouraged to vote too! If you want to add an explanation of why it’s your favourite then feel free! So what are you waiting for? Here’s the map of the front gardens, with a list of the addresses directly below the map.
