Last year over 200 of you wonderful Bearwood folk joined us for a torch-lit walk through Warley Woods in solidarity with refugees. It was a beautiful event, in partnership with We Are Bearwood, so on 14th October we’re doing it again!
At 6pm we’ll be gathering at the Fountain and will walk together up to the Pavilion. Brandhall Community Choir will once again sing and this year will be joined by a choir of local school children to sing a specially arranged song. We have a number of speakers joining us including faith leaders, local councillor Ann Jaron and Preet Kaur Gill MP.
Attendees are asked to bring their own torches and are encouraged to make lanterns for their torches. There’s a downloadable template developed by Smethwick Craftivistas that can be followed at home (https://bearwoodaction.wordpress.com/procession-of-light) and there will also be a lantern-making workshop at 4pm, prior to the event on 14th October at Warley Woods Pavilion.
